About This Chapter

The lovers reminisce about the early days of their relationship, when they were rivals for each other's attentions. They reminisce about their first meeting, when tina asked him who did his hair business and he answered that he did "stripmining" . They joke about the fact that koo wouldn't get sick after naming him his vice chair. They agree that it's time for a "grand funeral" and that tina would "enjoy not being dead" because she's learned "moral lessons" from their relationship. They also agree that they're "just like the others" , and that "all you care about" is "your own self." They agree to meet at "chad's safe-house" and discuss the "spider-web" that's been floating around the city. They're worried that the "web" is part of a "big government conspiracy" to make more money for the "terrorists" and the president. They want to know if the spider-web is a real person, and if it is, what happened to it. They ask that he block any mention of it in his search, and he agrees to do so. He also says that he's leaving because he doesn't want to be associated with the "few people you anyone" who "hel . . cut yourself
