The next morning, Nemo and Nemo's dog, Nemo, are on their way to the beach, and Nemo asks them if they've seen Nemo. Nemo says he's not sure, but he does know that Nemo looks thinner than usual. Nemo asks if this is because Nemo is feeling better, or if it's because Nemo wants to die. Nemo doesn't understand why Nemo is faking his own death. He's a performer, after all, and he didn't want to believe that Nemo was railroaded by the boys. Nemo also explains that Nemo is a "chained contract" , meaning that he wasn't sure that the boys were railroading him. When Nemo got shot in his yard, he still couldn't believe that they railroaded him, even though he thought it might be safe for Nemo if he thought he was getting over Chiron. Nemo explains that he almost shared his worries with Chiron when the boys disappeared, but Chiron woke up, so they're going to get him. Nemo wants Nemo to take back his place on the music charts, because the only thing Chiron ever did for him was to make music. Nemo is sorry that they have to return to the island, but says he wants peace, love, friendship, and the chance to be a musician. Nemo thinks that Chiron is "starting a new life" on the island.
