This chapter introduces the protagonist's three labor methods: 1) cutting pork chops in a restaurant; 2) lifting a cleaver; and 3) making a profit from manual labor. The protagonist explains that he does not want to waste his time on brats, as he is sure that he will make a lot of money if he does so. He compares the brat to skin and bones and wonders how he can cut pork chops using his arms. When the protagonist asks where he got the money, he is told that he did some manual labor, which was easier than he had expected. He asks the protagonist to tell him how much he made on his first night of work, and the protagonist says that he made some money
