About This Chapter
Yossan gives him some apples and tells him that he's going to make a pie for tomorrow. He's back in the neighborhood and has a lot on his mind. He says that he has made a nice life for himself, but sometimes he wonders if there are other people out there like him. He wonders why he didn't say something depressing when he asked him not to, and why he hasn't said anything depressing since then. He asks for a comforter so he can sleep on his sofa tonight, and he says that it's a good night, and that he is dead. He goes on to talk about how he is a member of a local business association, and the other members have been discussing ways to revitalize the neighborhood. One of the ideas they have is to have an open-air market, where people can come and buy whatever they want from the shops without having to go to the dollar store. Yosu says that this would be a good idea, since people would just come in and buy what they want at the market, and then go back to the store to buy more. He also says that if no one comes to his shop, it would be good to have a festival where people could come in, buy what ever they want, and come back again and buy again. He tells Yosu that this was his idea, after they left, and Yosu asks him if this has anything to do with him, since he is the one who is trying to use him in his shop. He doesn't care if he gets paid, Yosu replies, because he is not going to find anyone lustful after straight boys. He adds that he looks for guys in the gay community who are "eye candy," and he likes the way they look.
