In this short scene, the Governess tells her son, Konstantin, to come to school. She tells him that he is a good kid and that she wants him to come back to the family. Konstantin tells her that he has had a dream in which he is crying for help. He tells his mother that he loves her and that he will give her his life if she will help him. The Governess thanks her son for the dream and asks him to tell her what he knows. Konstantin says that he hates school because he is surrounded by enemies. He says that even though he is the head of the family, he does not know how long he will be able to withstand the situation.
