Back at the palace, Proteus asks his master if he's back. He's just returned from the battlefield, and he'd like to say hello. But he can't, because the door has been left open. He wants to know if anyone has seen him, and , of course, the answer is no. He asks if he can borrow his strength, and the master says he'll lend him whatever he needs to do his job.
