In this short scene, Tachibana tells Harada that she is not like her father, and that she does not want to be like him. She tells him that she accepted his proposal because of her father's generosity. Harada tells her that she can do whatever she wants as long as she sees her as someone her father would want her to be. If she can see him as someone she would like to be, then she will be different from her father. She asks him if he really wants to give up his life on the sea and go back to his ship. He replies that he does, but that he wants to be with her one after another. He asks her to take care of him and not to catch a cold in the cold weather.
