The chapter opens with a flashback to the previous chapter, in which we learn that Mi-Ling is now a student at the same high school as his older brother, who is also a student. The flashback is a reminder of the conflict that has been brewing between Mi and his brother, and it also reminds us of Mi's relationship with his older sister, who was once his best friend. Mi says that he is worried about Mi, but he does not want to reduce his time with his brother. Mi tells us that Mi has been asked to stay at school and talk with the teacher, and Mi feels relieved that Mi will be able to spend more time with him. Mi then tells us about his first escape from the school, when he was given a dessert from Mi by the teacher. He tells Mi that Mi is a well-known student in the school and that Mi often mentions stories about a boy who loves a girl in a novel. Mi is not interested in these stories, but when Mi tells him about them, Mi feels happy.
