"Damn it" , says the narrator. He's going to kidnap and sell the girl if he can't get any more money. He doesn't realize that today is the day Oswald came to see him. The narrator says that he's the one who's hurt the girl now. He says that his sister raised him on her own, but never once scolded him for anything he did wrong. He wants to be rich and powerful, he says, but his sister is useless because she never does anything except try to compensate other people for what they've done. He wishes that he had a powerful sister so that he wouldn't have to live in such a luxurious house. But his sister isn't powerful enough to make him wish that. She's just like her older sister, she's never criticized him, and she never gives up her pride or self-esteem because of him. So he wishes he could be with his older sister.
