In this chapter, we learn that the young man, who we now call "bai migao," is about to go back to school. He's excited to be back at school, but he's also worried about his sister, who hasn't come back yet. He wants to get home ASAP, or he'll have to stay at the school with his little brother for the rest of his life. He also wants to find out where his sister is, because he doesn't know how to find her. The young man also tells us that he saw a curly-haired girl wearing yellow walking down the street, but she disappeared before he could catch a glimpse of her.
