In this chapter, Cai Ming-tsing explains that the battle was meant to select the last leader of the gods, and that the chosen leader would then be the leader of all the gods. He explains that even if they had won, they would have lost because the sea god was stronger than all the other gods combined. He also explains that they would not have survived the explosion if it had not been for the heroics of a man named Tang-san, who covered them with his own body to help them resist the attack.
