About This Chapter
That's it for this chapter. The narrator tells us that he was waiting outside of the wind wolf's ancestral house when the wolf gave him a cup of tea. He asks the wolf if he's going to see the girl, and the wolf tells him that he'll have to go back to the city and open a store with no monsters causing trouble. He also tells the wolf that it's best to go less frequently in the future, because he still has a lot to learn. The wolf says that the girl still cares about him, and that she's still pretty. He's not qualified yet to disturb her, but he plans to become strong enough so that he can protect her by herself. He wants to take a mission from the academy, and he asks the teacher if he can take the sparring assignment. The teacher says that he heard that the wolf wanted to take the mission, so he will ask the teacher. He explains that he needs to become stronger by absorbing the blood of monsters. He says that if he keeps fighting, his bloodline power will accumulate, and it will become harder for the monsters to detect him when he absorbs their blood. The more precious the blood, the more precious he is to redemption. He tells the teacher that he has to keep a low-profile, because the town has been attacked by the monsters, and so he must make sure that he doesn't attract too much attention from the monsters. If he takes other missions, he can accept tasks that don't involve the sparring mission, but at least three
