The chapter opens with a description of the current ruler of the city: "the peacock demon king" . The peacock is a member of the golden lion tribe, and he is joined by another peacock, named Xiaoxiong. The two peacocks fight each other on the battlefield, and the fight ends with the peacocks winning. The narrator tells us that this is a great accomplishment for the warriors, but that they need to improve their fighting skills. When he returns to the square, he finds that the woman he was talking to is no longer there. He asks her what she is doing there, and she tells him that she has just bought milk tea. He tells her that she should not be looking at the students, because there will be a lot of trouble. She tells him to remember not to do so, and when he leaves, she wonders why he would want to talk to her.
