This chapter opens with a conversation between a young woman and a prostitute. The prostitute tells the young woman that she has been kicked out of her apartment and that she needs to find a new place to live. The young woman begs the prostitute to let her go of her, but the prostitute refuses, saying that she will do anything to stay alive.
