When renatus wakes up, he tells Rinus that he's glad to be back in the land of his birth. He says that he wishes he had gone back to the land where he was born. Rinus says that they've been searching for phyllis in every room of the castle, but he hasn't seen him. He also says that there's a good chance that s/he's still inside the castle. Rinehart asks why they're here, and phyllus says that it's because they haven't been to the castle from anywhere else in the world. He's not the only one, he says, and he'll interrogate each of them individually. .
