The narrator asks the wolf wild if he's going to continue lying to himself about his feelings for rena. The wolf tells him that he told her that rena was happy when she was with shiki, and that he was sure that she was happy, too. The narrator tells the wolf that he is lying to his self about his true feelings, but that he pretends not to notice them. He says that he loves rena, and he tells her that he made her turn him down so that he could move on in his life. He tells the narrator that he feels like a loser because of the way he has been consoled by loe, and the narrator tells him to forget about the things he said that stuck with him, and to share the pain with him. He asks the narrator to tell him the truth, so that the narrator can acknowledge that his wish for her happiness is a lie
