De la whaka asks to be taken to an arcade. He is so nervous that he cannot sleep. He thanks the driver for taking him there. He tells the driver that he is gathering information. He asks if she cleaned up her apartment after the fight with her mother and brother. The driver tells her that she is not to worry. He says that he did not want to cause her any more trouble. He then tells her to hurry up and leave the car there. The narrator tells the audience that this is not the first time she has been "held to like this" . She asks if women really like this. She then asks if the women of the world can stand it. She says that she does not care if it is too hard for her to do as she usually does. She goes on to say that she has never laughed so much in her life. She also says that women blush the world when they know what is expected of them. She wonders if women are able to stand it when it is hard for them to do so. She tells the narrator that it is not like she is going to swallow him whole. She feels that on purpose she was going to laugh too much, but now she feels that she can do what she likes. She wants to go to the arcade to get away from her worries. She notices that the place is confusing. It is an arcade, she says, and she asks why she is there when she usually goes to an amusement park when she needs "a change of pace." She then says that a certain man was so nervous in the morning. He turns on her and a dime. He takes care of her. She exclaims that she only has one life left, but she wonders if she has gotten that man. She is filled with "feelings of fun" and "happiness" at the
