One day, Onukita brings in akisato, who teaches him all sorts of things, like how to read, how to enjoy the scenery, and how to be friendly with people. On the day he dies, the two of them are about to face off against a new organization called the Nine, who are still unknown to the general public at the time. When they encounter one of their members, they knock him down before he can set off a bomb, but they're too confident in their own strength to do it. They're about to kill the other member of the group when they realize that it's zeroichi who's about to be killed. They don't want to kill him, because he's their partner, and they care about each other. They hug and greet each other in heaven.
