In this chapter, we are introduced to Onukita's "hanger" , who is a member of the prison's medical staff. She is the only person in the prison who is not a drugger, and therefore is immune to the effects of the nano-machines, which can be used to "forcely activate" the machines in someone else's body. This is the first time we've heard of this kind of operation, and we're not sure what to make of it. Onusuku, however, is convinced that it's possible to use the machines to harm someone without the use of the drugs. He's also convinced that the blood of the person who's using the machine can kill the person.
