In this chapter, we learn that the main wife of Prince Hal is the mistress of the house. She is also the wife of the Prince's second wife, who is pregnant with the prince's child. Prince Hal has invited a "charmer" to perform the ceremony, but the charmer is unable to do the job because of the bad luck of the eight characters in the fortune. The main wife, however, is not angry with the dancer, and she has made peace of mind with the second wife. The second wife and the prince are also pregnant, but they do not want the house to be haunted by the ghost of the cat. The master is not at ease with the charms, so he invites the charmers to perform it. The charmers are unable to perform because of bad luck, and the master cannot let the baby go into the belly because it is "contaminated with bad luck" . The mistress is furious and demands that the master lock up the baby's belly. She says that the baby still has nine months to live, and if the master does not believe her, she will never forgive him for hurting her.
