In this chapter, we learn that Cai Ling's father has been poisoned. Cai Ling is worried that his sister, who has been working so hard to recover her father's body, will not be able to do so. He tells Cai Ling that he has removed 70 percent of the poisons from his father and that 30 percent of them go into his veins to need drugs. He asks Cai Ling to go back to his room and rest, but Cai Ling tells him that he is not strong enough. He says that he just knows a little bit of the traditional medicine called kong fu, which is similar to his sister's medicine, and that this medicine will be arriving soon. When Cai Ling sees the box of blood ginseng at the door, he wonders what mysterious friend Cai Ling has made and why he has not shown his face.
