This chapter opens with a soliloquy by the master of the hall. The master tells the assembled disciples that he has found a cave in which they can all meet. He tells them that the number of people who have run away in the past week has reached seventeen. He also tells the master that he managed to fool one of the disciples into thinking that he is the senior brother . The vine demon asks the master why he has changed his appearance, and the master explains that he absorbed the senior's mana so that he could sense his location. He is also curious about why the girl wants him to bring him along. He says that he would have skinned the girl already if she had stopped him, but that he will cut his heart meridians if he does not stop her. The elder brother , who is the last person in the Luoyun sect, asks the vine demon to stab a golden core demon, but the master says he is about to die. He then tells the Master that he wants to beg the elder brother to take him in. The Master explains that all the cultivators of the sect are now under the control of the master, and that the master has no conscience to catch the child and the girl. He asks the Master to teach the disciples how to do their work.
