In this chapter, Cai tells the story of how he escaped from the "Infernal Hell" and how he has been able to travel to the "Changliu mountain" three times a week. He tells Cai that he is sorry that he still has him, but he is also sorry that the mountain is no longer there. He says that the gods have been merciful to Cai by being kind to the plants, but that there are other lands that are worthy of Cai's attention. He asks Cai to extend his divine consciousness into the other lands, and to stop being so merciful to the gods. Cai says that if he had not come back, he would have been dead already. He then tells Cai to get the ring from the ring that he gave him, and he will be his way.
