In this chapter, Volger tells his brother that he has chosen to be immortal and that he is already exhausted. He also tells him that he cannot let his sister face the situation alone. He tells Volger that if he were to sacrifice his life for him, he would rather die. Volger says that he will never retreat from his position as a hero. He will always step in the way of the weak.
