This chapter opens with a flashback to the beginning of the novel, where the hero is chosen to be an immortal in the "world of superpower" on something that is really going on in the real world. He is then taken to a secret location where he is surrounded by guards. The guards are there to protect him from the evil that is going on around him. The narrator tells us that this is a confidential task assigned by the Board of Directors and that the movie has been lost of its investment from Black Feather. This means that they have to finish the movie before they can leave.
