About This Chapter
The narrator complains to himself that dinner has passed and he has to cook something himself. He's not really inviting his son to dinner because he doesn't have enough ingredients to make his son's favorite dish. He complains that his son is a picky eater and that he chokes himself to death when he eats his food. He gets a new job as an assistant to a shooting crew. The next day, he's going to go to the set to see his idol, Lin Bing, star in a new movie with director Pei Quan. The narrator is so moved by Lin's beauty that he tears up in the audience.
