After the shipwreck, anya is rescued by a fisherman, who asks her to marry him. The fisherman then locks her in his house, and she begs him to let her see her family, but he refuses. She befriends a girl in her village, and asks the girl to send her a letter, so that she can see her again. The doctor tells anya that she has been pregnant for five weeks, and advises her to drink more water, eat more vegetables, and have sex only during the last three months of pregnancy.
