Inside the storehouse building where Mistress Viola lives, there is a locked door that leads to the secret room where Carla is supposed to be hiding. The captain of the store is very serious, and he is very jealous of Carla. He is also very worried about the young man who found the ribbon that Carla was wearing in the room. The young man, who is called "miiiiiiight" by the captain, asks the captain where he went, and the captain tells him that he went to look for Carla, but that he found no clue to her whereabouts. He also says that he is worried about Miiiiiiight's safety, and that he will never do such a thing again. He says that the captain told him that the door to the room was the treasury, but the captain said that it was the room where the ribbon was found. He thinks the captain may have something to hide, and Miiiiight wonders how he could have gotten into the room without the captain's knowledge. He tells the captain that he has been finding suspicious things for a while, and now that he finds him, he wants him to be fired. He wants the captain to know that he was never able to stand by when his friend was in trouble, and wants to know why the captain has not fired him. He then asks the two young men to get out of the building, and they do. He wonders where his big sister Viola and his little sister Viola are, and wonders if they are being manipulated by someone who is trying to cheer Viola up after the death of Mistress Sera.
