Akeginu asks to be allowed to desecrate the corpse of Tenzen. He says that he knows that Tenzen is their enemy, but that he is brave enough to fight one on one with them. He wonders where Tenzen might be. Tenzen's friend, yakushiji, asks him if he is sure that the dead man is dead. Akiginu tells him that he has an idea. He wants to capture the remaining three ninja and let them look at the corpse before they are killed. He tells them to step on the road and sprinkle some "clop clop" on them. They are on their way to Sunpu by order of the shogun, ieyasu, tokugawa-sama. Two women are traveling alone. They say that they are from the valley of the iga, and that they have come from the ogen who is fighting against the gari. The shogun told them that they were chosen on behalf of ten brave ninja, and they were to fight on their own. The women ask who the corpse is, and the answer is that it is that of the manjidani, the last of the three remaining ninja. They wonder where the remaining ninja are hiding. They conclude that there are probably three remaining.
