In this chapter, Jimushi's prediction of the stars is fulfilled. He tells us that his sister has gone to the northern city of Ibaraki to check on her brother, who has left for the northern town of Ishigaki to marry a girl. Jimushi is worried about his brother's safety, because he has sent his little sister to check out the situation. He also worries about his sister marrying an enemy of the northern manjidani tribe. He says that he hasn't been to the village in a long time, so he's not sure what's going on. He's worried about the five northern men who are supposed to be returning from the north, but he doesn't know how to warn them. He warns them not to get too cocky just yet, because they're still a mystery to him. He remembers that the northern men don't really know each other, so they shouldn't act like they know everything about the north just yet.
