About This Chapter
Akeginu doesn't want to marry because he's fat, but he also wants to get married so they can end their "long history of hatred." He asks Oboro dono if he'll stop being such a "bad drunk" , and Oboro says that he'd be happy to forgive him. Oboro also says that the pickles they make are different from the pickles from the other clan because they're made with salt, which is stored in the palace's salt shed. The two clans have been enemies for a long time, but they've been joined under "eternal truce," which means they can't be enemies anymore. Obo says that if they join together, they'll be able to "ring the bells" of peace all over the two valleys. He also tells Oboro not to tell anyone about the scroll, because if they hear about it, they will have trouble on their hands. Obe also tells akegineu not to let anyone else from the clan know about it. He tells Obo to make sure that no one else in the clan hears of the scroll. He then tells Obe to knock on the door. It's just a glimpse of the slide steel bars that are supposed to keep him in the prison, but it's clear that Obo has locked him in because he wants to be with his wife. He's so happy to see Obo that he breaks out in a fit of rage. He wants to know if he can get out of the prison and be his wife, but Obo doesn' t seem to want him to do that. He teases Obo about being his wife for the night, and then Obo teases him
