About This Chapter
In this chapter, Tenzen explains that he too is a member of the "iga" clan, and that he will not be able to fight against the ten "kouga" ninja named on the scroll. He also explains that the scroll is a challenge from the ten kinsmen of the kinsman's clan to the "sunpu" castle, where the remaining members of the clan will rule for 1,000 years. Tenzen is certain that the letter is meant to be a challenge to the iga, and so he plans to head to the castle immediately. He explains that there are seven of the ten members of his clan left, and he is returning the scroll in order to ask ieyasu about the challenge. He says that the seven iga clan members and the five remaining clan members will join them at the castle, and they are confident that they will win the battle.
