In this chapter, we learn that Nemo is on his way to the provinces to slay evil, and that he is accompanied by a cat named "shishi waka," or "beautiful swords," who is on a tour of the provinces in search of "justice." The cat, who is named "Amemura short," asks Nemo to apologize for his rudeness to the kitten. Nemo replies that he does not know what he is doing, but he does know that a sparrow is taking his grain of rice. He decides to wait until the kitten is asleep, and then use the grain as a weapon to kill him. Nemo says that he wishes to avenge his friends, but that he cannot do so until he has eaten the grain. He wonders why Nemo has forgotten his advice to attack the kitten in his sleep, and he asks him to help him.
