At the end of the first lap, the top of the pack is in the lead, followed by the second group. The gap between them and the first group is about five seconds. The second group is tired of chasing the top group, so they surround the leader. The leader of the second pack tries to catch up, but the other racers surround him. He tries to get away from them, but they surround him and pull him back out. The group is getting into a fight with each other, and they're starting to get into it with one another. They're getting into each other's backs, and it's getting to the point where everyone wants to be in the front row. This is a great sign, says the young racer, and he's happy about it. He's also happy about the fact that no one in the group is in front of him, and that everyone else is happy too. The other racers are also happy, too, because they feel like they've got a chance to win the race. The young racer says that he can't even believe that he has caught up to the front group, because he was talking to a "really special" guy. He says that the group was "in a messy scrum" , and the addition of another racer threw them into a greater chaos.
