On the third lap of the race, the leaders are separated by only a few hundredths of a second. Lance is in third place, followed by Kikko and Nemo. Lance says that he's confident that he can win the race if he can stay ahead of the pack. He says that the course is so fast that he doesn't have to set up his machine to take every corner at the fastest possible speed. Lance admits that he has a tough time keeping up with Kikko, Nemo, and Lance, because they're all trying to catch up to him. Lance also says that Kikko has requested a different setup for sector 4, which is the most dangerous part of the course. Lance wonders if Kikko is having mechanical trouble.
