Mr. and Mrs. Mason are on their way back to France. Mr. Mason says that he has arranged everything for them, and that they can go to the doctor immediately. He tells Mr. Lorry that he will not be able to come to see his daughter, because she is sick. He says that it is his fault that she is not able to see her father, because he does not like her. She tells him that if the doctor cannot cure her daughter, she will have to go abroad.
