This chapter opens with the artist and his nephew, the hip hop boy, talking. The two of them are discussing the gloomy personality of the young man, who has come to stay with his aunt and uncle. The hip hop artist says that if he had lived in the city, he would never have been cheerful. The aunt asks the boy if he is sure that he lives at her house. The boy says that he is, and the aunt asks him if he knows why he has a gloomy personality. The young man replies that he does, because if he lived here, he wouldn't have the same gloomy personality as he does now. He asks the aunt if she knows when his parents will arrive, and she tells him that they are not coming. She asks him why he is so cold to her, and he tells her that he came to stay by himself. He says that his aunt was supposed to come pick him up, but something happened to him, so he caught a ride on his own. He tells the aunt that he wants her to come and talk to him. She is shocked that he would come to her house alone, and asks him where his cousin and wife are. The auntie asks if the boy is looking for his parents
