Dr. Xu and his son, Mr. Xiao, have just arrived at the hospital. Dr. xu is very impressed with the young man's medical skills, which are considered to be one of the best in the nation. He praises the young doctor for his humility and politeness to dagen. Mr. xiao asks if dagen has a rich background, and the doctor replies that it is impossible to hide it from all of them. He also says that they were classmates for seven years, and that they heard that the rural places used evil spells, like voodoo magic. The young man thanks dagen for giving him a chance to test his medical skills in front of the doctor. He tells dagen that he has been unable to cure his brother for five years because he has not found a cure for his illness. The doctor says that he is not sure if it is something else, but he is confident that the cure will come soon. He says that dagen should not listen to the doctor's lies, as he is a village doctor, who caused the medical incident. He accuses the young men of spreading the rumors out of spite, as they were flirting back then with each other. They should watch their words, as it is obvious that they are willing to help dagen deceive other people. The two young men then move to another room, where they are asked to explain their lies. They say that they still have some medical questions that they want to ask, but that they have no time to answer them since Panpan did not come.
