The monster explains that he and his brother were attacked by a mythical beast, and that the chances of the beast surviving are slim. The monster says that he can hold his own against monsters, but that the two of them should not leave the city until they have rescued the boy. He says that if they stay in the city, they will not be able to fight the monster. He borrows a dagger from one of his friends and uses it to pull the monster away from him. He tells the monster that he has learned his lesson, but only on the condition that the boy be brought back to life. He goes on to say that he will search for his brother.
