About This Chapter
In this chapter, we find out more about the "painting club" , which is basically a group of guys who hang out and paint together. We learn that they've been hanging out since the beginning of the book, and they're not the only ones hanging out with each other. We also learn that one of the members of the "club" is a guy named "Jeremy," who's apparently a little jealous of the other guys hanging out in the paint club. He's also got a sister named "Jane," who is apparently also jealous of "jeremy" . The two of them decide to get back at each other by asking each other how they feel about being around other people. We find out that the answer to the first question is pretty straightforward: "How do you feel?" The answer is pretty simple: "I feel cool when I'm around someone." The problem, according to the two men, is that they don't realize that there's a big difference between being attracted to someone and being around someone else. The problem is that "someone" is cool when they first get to know him or her, but "someone else" is not cool when he or she gets to know her. The only difference is that the other person is a tyrant, a person who is trying to help the other guy. The guys decide that they need to put this behind them and get on with the rest of their lives.
