About This Chapter
The chapter opens with a flashback to the previous chapter, in which the two girls are walking together in the park. The narrator tells us that this is the first time she's seen the two of them together since she was a little girl. She's sad to see them walking together, but also happy to see that they're still friends. She asks the girls if they'd like to join the tree hugging club, which is a group of people who plant trees to save the earth. They're all vegans, so they don't have to care about animals. The girls agree that it's a good idea to do something good for the earth, and they've planted some trees to do so. They also agree to meet up after school to hang out together. The girl tells the narrator that she and Orion have been hanging out together all week, and that Orion likes animals, which she thinks is cute. The two girls decide to get to know each other before they go out on a date, though, because Orion is still a mystery to the girl, and she doesn't trust him to be honest with her. She tells the girls that she'll just have to wait until Orion gets better to ask him out, and then she can figure out a way to flirt with him.
