The narrator tells us that he didn't think he'd get taken advantage of, but he's glad that he did. He's not going to be able to get involved with the woman anymore, because she's his mother, and he'll take care of her personally. The narrator is shocked to find out that he was involved in a car accident, and that the man he was with was a cold man. He doesn't know why he was in the middle of a car crash, so he puts the check on the desk. The taxi driver tells him to take the check, but the narrator can't figure out what's going on. He asks the taxi driver why he is there, and the driver says that it's a public elevator, not his private one. He also tells the narrator that the building belongs to his family, which makes the narrator even more upset. He tells the driver to leave him alone, and tells him that he even survived the car accident. He then asks the driver if he knew about the accident, because he was at the scene, and if he had anything to do with it. The cab driver tells the taxi captain that he should check his mental health, since he has been bullying him at school, and now he is going to kill him.
