About This Chapter
This chapter opens with a conversation between the Governess and her son. The Governess tells her son that he's late for work and that she's here to talk to him about something important. She asks him if he wants to join them, but he refuses, saying that he doesn't want to be nice to his new love, Weiyi. He tells her that she is not even the mother of his child, and that if she didn't give birth to him, it would be exactly what she wanted. He asks why he should be so nice to her, and she tells him that he is no longer young, and should be careful with his health. She tells him to calm down, and he tells her to relax, because he'll scold her if something happens to him. She then tells him about her mother's absence, and how rebellious she is. She says that she was out with some guys at midnight, and it's unsafe for her to go out at night. She also tells her father that he should not be mad at her because she has chosen her stepmother as her lover. She reminds him that one of her stepmothers stole her father, and the other stole her shaoyu. He reminds her to remember her wound on her lips, and says that he will never let her go. He says that now that he has a hold of her, he won't let her leave.
