The Half-Open Flower

The narrator introduces us to xiaoshi, a clever, sensible child who has been mercilessly discarded by her lover, yuelao. He tells us that if he can't complete his mission, he will die. . The narrator asks shan if she knows that nicolet said he knew her, and shan replies that she did, and that she brought a lot of little kids with her for her to confess. She also tells shan that she has something nice for her, a schoolbag full of wildflowers and earth-mowing mud. She says that she's going to take the schoolbag to the hospital and show it to her, but they said she was discharged, so she'll have to take it back to the house. She then asks if shan sent flowers to show her that she liked her, because there are so many people who sent her flowers recently, and she doesn't like the fact that many of them have sent her dirty flowers.
