The narrator tells us that he's been thinking a lot lately about whether or not he should go swimming with Mr. Sean and his daughter, Amy, at the beach. He's not sure if he should do it, but he wants to make sure that he doesn't make a big deal out of it. He also wants to reassure his buddy that he will always be there for him no matter what. The narrator says that he thinks that someone is going to adopt him, and he hopes that someone will adopt him as well. He wants to test out his chemistry with his new family, and says that Amy is having a good time with her friends, so he'll get him back. He tells her that she can have whatever she wants, and that he won't have any problem with her going back to her father. He asks her to drink more, and she says that she needs time to process what's happened. She thinks that she's fallen in love with her father, but she can't say that she loves him back, because she'd have to lie to her heart.
