The king of the kingdom of Askapura greets the queen of the neighboring kingdom of Quintan. The king tells her that he hopes that she will marry Quintan soon. The queen apologizes for her rudeness to the king, and the king thanks her for her kindness. She tells the king that the kingdom is ruled by a sickly queen, who seldom makes public appearances. The eldest son, prince Askara, does not seem to be interested in rising to the throne, and his younger brother, prince Kartika, seems to take after his older siblings. When the queen asks the king to take a tour around the kingdom, the king agrees.
