About This Chapter
In the rebel camp, the father and son are enjoying themselves. The father tells his son that they are safe and that no one has come for them. He tells the boy that he was wrong to go to war and that now he is the plague. He thanks the city of Ventimiglia for coming up with a way to get into the city. The son asks if there are any other ways they could have gotten in, but the father says that there are no other ways. He asks if they need some kind of lubricant, and the son says that they need to get inside before anyone sees them. The king congratulates the son on capturing his queen. He says that the key to the kingdom is finally in his hands, and that he is giving him the honor of seeing his ultimate triumph. He praises the son for being so easy to manipulate, and he says that he prefers his toys to be more exhilarating. He is sure that the king has held the land in his evil grip for too long
