About This Chapter
In this chapter, Ganymede continues to taunt Guozhong about his freedom. He says that he is not a tolerant man, and that he will kill anyone who tries to stop him. He also says that Guosheng has requested for promotion of many men, and for command of imperial steeds, and he wonders if he is planning a rebellion. He then explains that he wants to taste his mother's food one last time before he dies, but that he has other things to do. He explains that after the Buddha's death, many of his disciples found multicolored beads in the ashes of his body. He adds that he plans to take a monk named jianzhen on a secret journey to Japan, where he hopes to find the turtles golden. The monk is on his way to Japan when a storm breaks out at sea, and they are unable to continue their journey.
