The next morning, the shop is abuzz with activity. The shop's ferrets are complaining about their health. One of them, named "Peach," is having a hard time getting out of her cage, and the other, "Swagger," has a panic attack after school. They've both come down with a strange illness after their last visit to the shop, and they're both very sick. The ferrets' health has taken a turn for the worse, and one of them is so sick that she needs to be taken to the vet's office. She's also very dehydrated, so she's going to need some kind of subcutaneous fluid to help her. She tells the ladies that she'll need to bring in a home-care nurse to treat her, because the disease is a potential killer. She also tells them that the handra, the new ferret that they brought in, seems to be very kind to her, and he seems to care about her. He seems to have been "well intentioned" , and she tells him that he is the first ferret she'd ever met who called her "a prince" . He calls her "Edwin," and they can "rebuild my kingdom" together.
