In this chapter, we learn more about the ferret's bottlebrushing condition. It occurs when a ferret becomes excited or scared, and all of its emotions go to its tail. It's a condition that some ferrets find embarrassing, and they'd rather have their tails left a fig. We learn that this condition is called "bottlebrushing" and that it happens when the ferret gets excited, scared, or overwhelmed by something new. Bottlebrushing can be very difficult for a ferret to control, so it's best to let it happen. We also learn that phil has two guinea pigs named pu and lightning. They're both very shy and frightened, but they bond very well with each other.
